Product Consolidation -- April 2026

Control Zero has consolidated from two separate products into a single unified product: Control Zero for AI Governance.

What Changed​

Previously, Control Zero offered two distinct products targeting different audiences: one focused on developer tooling and another on organizational AI governance. These have been merged into a single product with three clear tiers.

Before​

  • Two separate product lines with overlapping features and separate pricing.
  • Confusing upgrade path between products.

After​

  • One product: Control Zero for AI Governance.
  • Three tiers: Free ($0), Solo ($29/month), and Teams ($199/month base + $29/seat + $19/agent).
  • All governance capabilities (SDK enforcement, gateway proxy, DLP, browser extension, coding hooks, Scout, MCP server) are part of a single product, gated by tier.

What Stayed the Same​

  • SDKs: The Python, Go, and Node.js SDKs are unchanged. No code changes required.
  • API keys: All existing cz_live_* and cz_test_* API keys continue to work.
  • Policies: Policy definitions, evaluation logic, and enforcement behavior are identical.
  • Gateway proxy: Proxy configuration and provider support are unchanged.

New Features in This Release​

  • Usage dashboard: Track governed actions, DLP detections, and policy decisions in real time.
  • Account deletion: Two-step verified account deletion with tier-specific data retention.
  • Overage billing: Solo and Teams tiers now support overage billing instead of hard cutoffs. Free tier remains hard-blocked at 10,000 actions.
  • Simplified pricing: Three tiers with a clear feature matrix. See Pricing and Feature Availability.

Migration Notes​

If you were on the previous "Team" plan at $99/month, your account has been migrated to the new Teams tier. Your existing features and data are preserved. Review the updated Pricing page for details on the new tier structure.

No action is required for Free or Solo tier users.
